Strawbridge Animal Care is proud to announce our first children’s program, “Little Paws for Learning” was a great success! We targeted grades 1-3 for this program. that brings children into the clinic for a couple of hours while we’re closed and through a series of work stations introduced them to surgery, medication counting, drawing blood, taking X-rays, and more. An assistant from our wonderful staff led the children through a hands-on learning experience at each station.
The children participated in veterinary activities like bandaging, “teddy bear surgery”, and radiology to name a few. All the children brought their own “stuffed animal” patient and were able to dress in a gowns and masks to find out what it is really like to be on a surgical team.
The children had a great experience as they worked in small groups to discover the world of veterinary medicine. This program is not only designed to expose kids to the veterinary field, but to also serve as a form of community outreach to educate the public about the importance of good veterinary care.
